Travel Photo Roulette Post 81- Face of a Nation

She was standing at the back of my chair
Said to me, “Don’t I know your name?”
I muttered somethin’ underneath my breath
She studied the lines on my face
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe
Tangled up in blue

Tangled Up in Blue

I can't help but think of these lyrics every time I see this photo. This woman was photographed in Pisac, Peru during the Fiesta de la Virgin de la Carmen. She looks like she has the map of the world etched upon her skin, with the worries of her entire people shadowed within her eyes. I took so many photographs of the warm, gentle, gracious people of Peru on my journey there, and still looking back through photographs, they are some of my favorites ever  taken. Maybe another photo essay to come!!!!
